More People to Qualify for SSI Under New Rental Subsidy Rule
The Social Security Administration has published a final rule simplifying and expanding its rental subsidy program for Supplemental Security Income that is likely to allow more people to qualify for benefits.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) both allow working beneficiaries to deduct certain work-related expenses from their countable income, making it easier to qualify for benefits or, in the case of SSI, to receive a larger payment.
